Custom Creations

At Cattywampus, I tend to think less in terms of art pieces and more in terms of functional design. There’s overlap, sure—but the focus is on objects we need, not just admire from across the room.

So here’s the question:

What would you love to see made out of wood?

Something that fits your space. Something with character. Something that feels like it belongs there—not like it came off a big-box shelf.

A silverware drawer.

An end table.

A lamp.

A wall-mounted shelf.

A set of bookends.

A small entry bench.

A custom tray or organizer.

A clock designed around a particular piece of wood.

Or something I haven’t thought of yet.

I’m always interested in new ideas—new ways to take a tree and turn it into something useful, lasting, and a little bit unexpected.
